Heliski Chile - Anden

Heliskiing in the Central Andes

With a length of approx. 9.000 km, the Andes are among the largest and most impressive mountain ranges in the world. During the hot summer months in the northern hemisphere, we can find the finest powder snow on the mountains of South America. Who wouldn't want to experience a top-class powder adventure as summer vacation?

Right in the heart of the Central Andes is one of the largest heliski areas in the world. Incredibly long, wide open ski slopes and really steep descents surrounded by 5.000+ meter high mountains make the skier's heart beat faster.

Due to the Mediterranean climate and the proximity to the Pacific, there are countless meters of snowfall in the Andes and due to the high altitude of the terrain, there is always light and dry powder snow. Since we prefer to go heliskiing in deep powder snow and in sunshine, the snow also has to fall down. On average there are 2-3 days of snowfall each week.

Difficulty:

For good to extremely good off-piste skiers. Don't worry, if you are beginner: There are beautiful and enjoyable ski runs for everyone.

Schedule

A long and worthwhile journey to the Andes

From Central Europe or America we can easily reach the capital, Santiago de Chile, with an overnight flight. From Sanitago it takes approximately 2,5 to 3 hours by road to reach our exclusive accommodation, the Puma Lodge. After a leisurely check-in, we immediately begin with a safety briefing on heli-skiing and avalanche safety equipment.

Over the next 6 days we have the opportunity for heli-skiing in an unique mountain landscape. Depending on the weather and conditions, descents of up to 2000 meters in altitude await us, surrounded by mountains towering at more than 5.000 meters.

The highest ski descents start at around 4.500 meters above sea level. For heli-skiing we use helicopters such as the Ecureuil AS 350-B3 or Bell 407, which are well-established in the heliski industrie.

On the 6th day of heli-skiing we return to our hotel in Santiago after skiing in the late afternoon. There we can enjoy a relaxing evening in this fascinating city. The next day, our journey continues back home.

If you want to stay longer in South America: On request, I would be happy to offer you a ski safari through the Andes and Patagonia.

Heliski Terrain

Right in the heart of the Central Andes lies one of the largest heliskiing areas in the world. Incredibly long, wide-open ski slopes and steep descents. The surrounding 5.000+ meter high mountains make every skier's heart beat faster.

To name a few areas within the heliskiing region: Rio Colorado Valleys to the north, and Aparejo, Marmolejo, Tinguiririca Valley to the south. Glaciated mountain peaks, perfect powder runs and steep chutes and couloirs: It's something you have to experience by yourself. Thanks to the endless terrain there are still opportunities for first descents, offering a truly unique adventure.

Due to the Mediterranean climate and proximity to the Pacific the Andes receive an abundance of snowfall. The high-altitude terrain ensures consistently light and dry powder snow.
